May QUIZ winner

ESO/BACH QUIZ: extra 0'25  this term for the first one who's able to complete and translate the speech below (ESO students are allowed 5 mistakes) .

The reality is that we still have brutal criminals in our midst, who have no respect for the rules of law or human life (...) Bach Trivia Winner


Who was found guilty of killing his ex-girlfriend with an ashtray ? 


María Sobrino (2º Bach A) answered: 

 Almost three years after the dissapearance of Marta del Castillo, her ex-boyfriend and 21-year old murderer Miguel Carcaño, was convicted with a sentence of twenty years in prison for killing the young girl with an ashtray. 
The acquital of three other boys who were supossed to have helped Carcaño to hide the victim's body makes Marta's parents want more justice for his daughter's case.

After some unsuccessful searches, the police continues looking for Marta's body

ESO TRIVIA WINNERS



Who fought with a method based on courage, non-violence and truth? What was the major achievement of this spiritual leader? 

3º ESO: Elsa Vázquez Rodríguez
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, known as Gandhi.
He got freedom for India, which was being oppressed by the British people with a political movement (a pacifist movement) called Satyagraha. So he is known for this, he's a role model and "The father of the Indian Nation".
I think he's an amazing person because he promoted disobedience without violence and that is something hard to get.


4º ESO: Miguel Ángel González Diz
- That person was Mahatma Gandhi (Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi). He used the courage, nonviolence and truth, which were the principles of his method of action was called Satyagrana. 
- His major achievement was leading the campaign for Indian Independence from Britain. He became the leader of the Indian nationalist movement at the age of 15, and he used the principles of Satyagrana to get the Independence.

 Dashrath Manjhi built a passage on a hill, to reduce the distance from his village to the nearest town 75km because his wife died due to the fact that there wasn't any hospital in their village.


 Steffi Lomba Vrouenraets, 2º BACH A:


This is the story about Dashrath Majhi.

Dashrath Majhi was married with a woman who got ill and died. She died because she couldn´t go to the doctor. The nearest town with a doctor was 70 Km away and it was very difficult to go there because there was a hill between his village(Bihar,India) and his town.
So, Dashrath,frustrated,began to cut the mountain with a hammer,chisel and nails,working every day for 22 years. He decided to make a road cutting the hill to prevent more deaths in his village.

A swiss woman drew a heart and her initials on a wall in the Golden Room.

A two-week-old baby girl named Azra was pulled alive from the rubble caused by the earthquake that hit Turkey in October 2011. The baby was rescued 46 hours after the earthquake. After the rescuing, she was given back to her mother.
